I.C.E. Training is operated by Rob Pincus, where he teaches his Combat Focus Shooting Course. Rob was recently in St. Augustine teaching three combat courses, Combat Focus Shooting, Advance Pistol Handling and Combat Focus Carbine. Pictured above is the carbine one day class, there is no dry knees here as it was aggressive training. These classes are great for military, police, civillians or just the run of the mill weapon enthusiast. If want to brush up on you’re weapon skills, these classes are the best way to do it. DGG Taser and Tactical Supply was the sponsor for the week long event at the ATAC range. If you did not get in this time, no worries he will be back soon! You have to get in early these classes fill up fast! Keep a check on www.dggtaser.com for up coming training events. You can also check here for updates and our Facebook sites as well.
For several years DGG Taser and Tactical Supply and Psy-Ops have joined forces to create versatile and unique gear. Our Simple Single sling came from this union as did the OSIH med bag and other useful gear. Recently Bruce Buell, president of Psy-Ops started working with Kydex to create holsters.
According to Wikipedia, KYDEX is a line of thermoplasticacrylic-polyvinyl chloride alloy sheet grades. It is frequently used as an alternative to leather in the production of firearm holsters and sheaths for knives. KYDEX Thermoplastic Sheet is a registered trademark of KYDEX, LLC and is the only manufacturer of this material.
That’s a mouthful but basically means this stuff makes good holsters. The use of Kydex in holsters has been around for awhile. What’s new for us is the “home grown” feel these have as we work with Psy-Ops. The unique ability at Psy-ops is they can create custom holsters for almost any handgun/light setup. Bruce told me that for around $60.00 a customer can drop off a weapon here at DGG and within about a week he can build the custom holster for the customer.
The Psy-Ops holsters look very well made and fit into the “concealable” category of holsters. They fit snug and high on the waist. They are belt loop fed and upon my last conversation with Bruce, the belt loops can be inverted to give the holster about a 1 1/2″ up or down seating on the belt. Another feature I like about the items from Psy-Ops is they are generally 100% made in the USA. The holsters are made from a heat mold and then pressed together to form the shape of the gun the holster is made for. The two halves are then drilled, grommets added and the belt loops mounted with metal machine screws. Design features include a molded in sight channel, an almost flat back to allow for a more comfortable long term concealed carry.
As with any new holster line, Psy-Ops is getting the line ready for the Glock brand and then working towards the “J” frame 5 shot. From there I imagine they can build out a Kydex holster for any brand handgun. They are also building out magazine holders for single and double stack mags. I know Psy-Ops are just getting started but I imagine pretty soon we will see Kydex handcuff pouches, small handheld flashlight pouches, combos etc. We will have the Psy-Ops holsters here for the “off the shelf” purchase as well. Our retail price is $54.99 for the holster but for the LEO and military folks; remember to ask for your discount. Also as a reminder for $64.99 you can get a custom holster made for your Limcat race gun!
New from DGG, the MOLLE capable OSIH medical bag. This bag is from the same team that developed the Simple Single line of slings and accessories. The OSIH bag was designed to be as demanding as the warrior who wears it. It was designed to be easily removed from the MOLLE carrier as a 2 part system. No other bag has this ability.
The med bag detaches from the OSIH MOLLE carrier using hook and loop. The red handle of the med bag shows it is an “emergency” pouch so it can be quickly located. As the bag goes where you need it, there is no need to work from a fixed (downed) location. The bag is big enough for CAT tourniquets, bandages, Quik Clot, etc. We even have a glove pouch and a medic scissor compartment built in. This is a well designed pouch with a feel for durability and functionality.
The OSIH med bag, It’s not just for SWAT!
We have teamed up again with Psy-Ops Tactical to create another cool item. We especially like this item and the potential it has. The OSIH Med pouch has many uses and is geared toward anyone who straps on a MOLLE system, for any reason. As a first responder, you could use a kit like this to save a victim of a shooting, car accident, or when just plain bad stuff happens. The warrior knows every second counts when saving a life or fighting to save yours. The OSIH is a unique design and the perfect size for any warrior to have on their MOLLE or tactical armor. That’s why the OSIH was designed to move with you. With the “tear away” design, the OSIH can be pulled from its base and move where you need it too.
MOLLE gear is a great attachment system but not so great for fast un-attaching. The OSIH’s ability to be quickly removed from the MOLLE base makes it a easy solution. Plus it’s not just an EMT bag. It’s made for fighters on the front line, in harm’s way every day. Light weight, easy to use, and just big enough to hold what you need. The OSIH measures 7” tall 5” wide and 3” deep. That is a measurement taken with the bag “at rest” we have crammed a bunch of stuff in the ones here and were impressed with the amount of supplies it can hold. The OSIH bag tucked inside the MOLLE base is the same color as the rest of your kit. Once the OSIH bag is removed it has a bright red handle to denote the importance of the bag itself. Another great feature of the OSIH, You can open the pouch with one hand.
Here at DGG we realize everyone will carry a blow out kit differently. It’s up to you what goes in the OSIH. As a basic med bag we think a CAT tourniquet, Quik Clot sponge and combat gauze or Israeli bandage is a good start. This covers the basics with plenty of room to spare for other items you may need.
The civilian trend is more and more of the civilian population has found the use of mollie bags as a covenant way to carry gear. From hydration systems to back packs, the OSIH can quickly attach and is easy to use if you’re on the trail or in the woods or even strap one in the cab of the truck.
I recently sent a OSIH to a combat medic who is very involved in the SWAT medic community and he gave it high marks. That means a lot because it’s not just us going “hey, that’s cool.”
The tough part about a good med bag is it’s one of those cool things that you look at but never actually purchase, because the only time you will ever need one, is when you need one!
